I write this diary as Congressional Candidates Wife of Indiana's 6th Congressional District
Barry Welsh.
Last night I wrote to let you know about the close race that Barry is in against incumbent Mike Pence.
As it happens, Barry has diaried today too.
In case you haven't read the diaries, we are working to pay for 392 radio spots in order to get Barry's name and message out to the rest of the district. Please read those diaries, as they will provide more info. In a district this size with 19 counties it's a lot of ground to cover and the best bang for the buck to go the radio buy route and with Barry so close in the race to the incumbent, it's critical that we have the radio ads on the air.
The response to the diaries has been so appreciated and we are nearer our goal. Barry and I want to express our thanks for the support both in encouragement but also in $$ donated. The goal is to have enough to cover the spots we really need to have on radio in the cities as outlined in both diaries, we are close and we still need to reach our goal of $2,425. We've had donations of every amount and it's so humbling to see people give what they can and know that we will put the money to good use as outlined in Barry's diary.
Barry has provided the details in his diary of today, and frankly any other time I'd be able to throw all kinds of stats at you about averages, graphs, etc. but I'm sick at home (pneumonia) and to tell the truth I'm not sure I'm qualified to do so in my jammies and bunny slippers, BUT I'm dedicated and grateful for any and all responses.
I'm also, respectfully requesting that if you can see your way to support this campaign, Barry will truly be the man of the people. We've had no other funding from Corporations, PACs or special interest groups. Barry's vote will be beholden to no one, other than those he represents and that's worth working for.
I am always grateful that you've taken time out of your day to read my diary and I especially wish to thank all that have donated in all forms, volunteering, $$, time and effort.
This is my personal diary, not vetted thru the campaign and is my view of a Congressional campaign from the inside out.
As I said before, thank you for taking the time to read my diary and I welcome any and all comments.
Love,
Sher
