I was wondering who was going to represent the cranky left of the party in the primaries. Apparently, it might be Kucinich again. Really? Kucinich? Oy vey. His statement was hilarious:

There is much speculation and rumors about my plans for 2008. Shortly, I will make my intentions known. In the meantime, I am going to continue to challenge the Administration and Congress to cut off the funds for the war, bring all our troops home and end the grave misadventure in Iraq.

"Speculation"? "Rumors"? Really?

No there wasn't speculation or rumors. Few care whether Kucinich will lose badly again in 2008 like he did in 2004 (after helping sabotage Dean in Iowa with his secret deal with Edwards). Apologies to those who like him, but the man is a joke. [Update: Kucinich is a joke as a presidential candidate. Sorry for the loose wording.]

Also at Gilliard, lots of talk about the latest police shooting of unarmed blacks in NYC. That's some crazy shit, especially the fact that "investigators" are trying to dig up dirt on the victims to justify the shootings, rather than even interviewing the cops who did the shooting.

And one more piece at Gilliard's joint -- Hitchen's bizarre rant about women and humor. For the record, [when I was dating], I [would lose] interest in women because they weren't funny. And that was despite whatever other, um, assets they may have had. {Updated for clarity. I don't think I could've possible been less clear with the original wording.]
