The one Democratic leader who requires no spin, and who likely never will, is you Congressman Conyers.
The Nation needs you to step forward and assume the leadership position you have earned.
I am requesting that everyone join in launching a concerted effort to convince you to declare that if Bush and Cheney are not either forced to resign or are impeached before Nov 2006, then after you lead the Democrats to capturing the majority in both the House and the Senate in 2006 - based on a campaign laser focused on the vast criminality of the Bush administration and his Republican 109th Congress -- you will then lead the effort to impeach both Bush and Cheney in the House, and assist your colleagues in the Senate to convict both of them.
I am requesting that everyone support your being Speaker of the House in the 110th US Congress and from that position you can then lead the effort to impeach Bush and Cheney in the House and work with your colleagues in the Senate to convict both of them.
We The People .. need action and we need it now.
Congressman Conyers, you are the person, at this time, who can most convincingly rally the Nation.
I am urging everyone to do all they can to support you and to urge you to assume your rightful and much deserved place at the helm.
Thank you for all you are already doing.
The crisis in our Nation is so extensive and critical that I hope you will step forward and lead all of our fellow citizens.
Not since the days just prior to the Civil War, has America been so threatened.

p.s.I'll continue to post as understandinglife because my activities here and elsewhere are not about me, they are about my attempts to serve the Constitution, my attempts to be a 'fellow citizen,' my attempts to contribute to the well-being of humanity.
But, I want to make it clear with this post that I am fully prepared to accept the consequences of anything I have ever posted at Daily Kos and DU, and to inform all of you that you will see the name in the subject line, soon, on a pamphlet I am in the final stages of preparing for publication -- We The People ... Have No Clothes: A Pamphlet for Every American Citizen -- the proceeds of which, after cost of publication and distribution, will be arranged to automatically transfer from whomever the publisher is to Habitat for Humanity for exclusive use in green-construction of housing for low income victims of Katrina and Rita.
In other words, I don't 'hide behind' understandinglife; I just don't want the focus to be on me, ever, but on the issues I address.
