More talk about polls...I know we all see the incredibly low ratings for Bush and wonder...what does it matter...
I do too. But, I follow the Rasmussen Reports, a very right leaning polling organization. I have noticed that when the numbers are particularly bad for Bush, the polling for the day comes out later and later.
Which brings us to today's polling numbers. The present to think Bush is doing a good or fair job is down to 38%. Unless I am mistaken, this is the lowest positive number EVER for Bush. Notice that they don't mention this in the body of their comments. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/...
But, it's a fact. 61% either somewhat disapprove or strongly disapprove of how the President is conducting his job.
This particular poll is a compilation of three days polling; this is, this 38% represents a trend that is definitely going south. I would not be surprised if the positive number tomorrow falls in the 36% range.
What does this mean? It means that Bush is losing his base...and rapidly. It means that if the Democrats can take advantage of Republican/conservative apathy we can take both houses in the legislature this year.
Sound unbelievable? Unlikely? Maybe; but this poll tells us that we have a chance if we speak as an organized group and go after Bush as the titular head of the Republican Party we can make great advances in November.
