Were you, like me, stuck in Chicagoland while the rest of Kosworld was
hanging out in Vegas? Were you also kind of jealous of those who went, or at least a little curious?
Well, fear not. Bluestateonian has decided to respond to her Yearly Kos envy by organizing a Kos meetup this Thursday evening.
Thursday, June 22, from 6pm until we can't stay awake any more.

To be honest, I've never been 100% sure that I "get" this whole blogosphere thing -- of course I recognize and admire the energy and ideas that can be found on the progressive blogs, but at the same time they've never really felt like home to me.
One way in which this has manifested itself is that every single time I've met someone in person whose writing I'd seen on-line, I was more impressed with (and persuaded by) the in-the-flesh version than the on-the-blogs incarnation.
For this reason, I'm always excited by the prospect of blending on-line and off-line activism, and so it was a bummer to miss Yearly Kos. Let's all make up for it this Thursday evening at Rock Bottom. It should be a fun opportunity to meet one another, chat, and see what some of this energy can look like off-line.
Whatever my level of engagement, I do, at least, get the most important thing about the blogosphere, which is, as Kos writes about this community, "You are the real power, the real force."
The best thing about this blog is that it creates a platform from which anyone can become a leader. And bluestateonian is standing on that platform and leading, just as the Yearly Kos team did this past year. Let's all thank her, in person, this Thursday evening.
