I have created a new ActBlue page to offer recognition to incumbent legislators who show a
commitment to this nascent medium. This list, and I hope it grows over the years, includes three Democrats who have 1) used this medium to communicate with their supporters, 2) stood strong against efforts to regulate the blogs through the FEC, and 3) have fought strongly for Net Neutrality.
The inaugural list includes Congresspersons Brad Miller of North Carolina, John Conyers of Michigan, and Louise Slaughter of New York. I've added the DNC as a stand-in for Howard Dean.
The list would include Harry Reid but since he's not up for reelection, he's not listed at ActBlue. If Reid's PAC gets listed on ActBlue I'll go ahead and add that.
I'm not going to urge you to go contribute to these guys. I think the challengers on the Netroots page need the money more. But I would urge you to volunteer for their campaigns if you live in or near their districts. And sign up for their email lists. They are all doing good work, and being on their email lists will allow us to be there, getting their backs, when they need the help.
Because they've been there for us.
