Last Chance: Urge LA Governor Blanco to VETO SB 33

Please take two minutes to stand up for women's health and safety in Louisiana - this may be your last chance.

Today SB 33 will make its final appearance on the Senate Floor. If the Senate accepts the amendments made in the House of Representatives, SB 33 will then move onto the Governor's desk for her signature. Last week, Governor Blanco announced that she will sign SB 33.

You can help us fight this terrible abortion ban by taking the following steps today:

Call Governor Blanco (866-366-1121) with the following message:
Dear Governor Blanco,
Please stand up for women's health and safety and VETO SB 33! This extreme abortion ban will not stop abortion - it will only mean women, including survivors of rape and incest and women suffering from debilitating medical conditions, will seek illegal abortions with no protections for their health and safety.
The women of Louisiana are counting on you - Please VETO SB 33!
Send Governor Blanco the following letter:
Dear Governor Blanco,
As your constituent, I urge you to stand up for Louisiana women and VETO SB 33. This extreme abortion ban will not stop abortion - it will only mean women, including survivors of rape and incest and women suffering from debilitating medical conditions, will seek illegal abortions with no protections for their health and safety. Medically accurate sex education and access to birth control are proven tools to prevent unintended pregnancy and will reduce the need for abortion - abortion bans don't work. Right now, the people of Louisiana need homes, clean water, and access to health care. We need to rebuild after Katrina and Rita and focus on the current hurricane season. We do NOT need laws that threaten women's health! Please VETO SB 33.
