In looking at headlines and doing media research, there is an interesting detailed article about the formation of the Triple Alliance between Israel, the US and Turkey (written by a non-US journalist outside of the US)and the "long war". Headlines today about Israel's expansion into Lebanon are overshadowed by the news of the foiled terrorist plot of bombs on airlines in the UK.
What headlines will dominate the media over the weekend? What will capture our attention?
Anyone want to weigh in?
The article on the Triple Alliance presents an outside-of-the-US view and is pretty lengthy; I'm still not quite sure what to make of it since I've not seen any of this in the U.S. media.
Here is a Bloomberg article on the foiled terrorist plot in the UK.
and finally, here is the article on Israel's expansion into Lebanon.
I just look at media and coverage and see the same story of the foiled UK threat in the AP, the Times, WaPo and Bloomberg and the timing... and am following the media potrayals of stories, including visual stories such as those in Bag News Notes.
Not a big diarist, nor political strategist... just a media student comparing how different media outlets cover the stories and what headlines and stories distract from the deeper stories and issues... I wondered about the voting issues back when no one else seemed to think there was an issue but hey... my diaries go unread and I won't put the F word in the head.
