Down at the Gunshop - Legalizing Warrantless Wiretaps

The Democrats can kick Republican ass with the BS the Republicans are trying in the Senate with the Specter and DeWine bills.  They are trying to legalize warrantless wiretapping of domestic phone calls.  Forget the details, this is the frame.  Do we we want the President to have the right to wiretap without a warrant?  

I tried this frame at the gunshop today. It works.  The guys at the gunshop couldn't believe a couple of Republicans wanted to give the government that kind of power.  "It's un-American," said the stocky guy checking out a sweet M1A with a 20X Leopold.  "Really, they are trying to have warrantless wiretaps?" asked the guy looking at the H&K P7.

"The president is already looking at everyone's phone records.  Everyone except for ours since we all have Qwest." said the paraniod former Marine looking at the Desert Eagle .44 Magnum.

Nobody wants the government to have the right to wiretap without a warrant.  It is un-American and if you frame it right, the issue is going to help bury the Repugs in November.  Do you want the president to have the right to wiretap without a warrant?  Nobody at the gun shop does either.
