In Iowa, if your candidate doesn't get to 15% of the votes at your caucus site, you have to pick another candidate. One of the many reasons that John Edwards did so well in 2004 was the good relationship his people had with the Kucinich people, who moved over to Edwards.
How do we figure out second choice support? The best way would be to ask for first choice and then second choice, but our software isn't set up for that.
Therefore, I'm just going to use Edwards, Obama, Clinton as the three defined first choices (the media top three) and as second choices, our top five here -- with three "someone else" categories tied into the media top three.
