Here is a link to my favorite seven minutes of Senate hearings. It is Senator Leahy taking Alberto Gonzalez to the woodshed for America's kidnapping and torture of a Canadian citizen, who was and is innocent, but remains on America's terrorist watch list. http://www.youtube.com/...
Leahy demands answers. Gonzalez demurs and asks for more time. Leahy angrily grants the attorney general a one week continuance, but threatens further hearing if Gonzalez does not timely respond.
The week passed. Silence. I don't know if Gonzalez produced the information. I don't know if Leahy made good on his threat in some manner.
Why has this fallen off the table? What happened? If Gonzalez did not produce the answers and information, it's time to turn the spotlight on this issue and insist Leahy make good on his threat to demand the information.
I don't want this opportunity to demand a response to slip from our grasp.
Here's Leahy's email address. senator_leahy@leahy.senate.gov
