After his performance last week where he said on Fox News that he is very open to supporting a Republican, I wonder, what else is it going to take? Is your loyalty to your supporters and America, or to your buddy and Amerika? I for one am getting tired of you guys fiddling while we are burning. Are you going to allow Bush to take control? Are you going to allow Lieberman to continue to block actions against him?
I strongly suggest that you approach Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and explain very carefully that she WILL NOT be re-elected in '08 unless she changes parties NOW and runs as a Democrat. If she does not, then we will throw a lot of resources into making sure that the rest of the NE area turns completely blue. Offer her something such as keeping some seniority or something equivalent. I am sure you can figure it out as you are a smart man.
Really, she is a smart woman and can read the tea leaves as well as we can. She knows full well that we have a lot of momentum on our side and that she will not enjoy the minority to finish out her term. We are likely to pick up seats in the Senate in '08 and she will stay in the minority. There are a lot of credible candidates out there and the tide is turning. Tom Allen comes to mind, and I am sure you can think of others should he not want to run.
Once she flips, then you go to Sen. (God, I even hate to say that) Lieberman and explain to him that he is now off the committee chairmanships, and that he is going to sit down and SHUT UP, unless he wants to lose all chance of getting on the gravy train forever. If he wants to jump at that point, then let him.
I know you don't want to do this, but your supporters are out here practically begging you to take some action, and unless you want to lose a great number of them who helped us win in '06, you will consider this and take some action now so we can stop Bush/Cheney and their insane power grab.
We are waiting.
