I am Barry Welsh and I am running for Congress for a second time in Indiana's 6th District against Neo-Con, Theo-Con, and Number 19 on the Most Influential Conservatives list Mike Pence.
Our campaign took this district from 28% in 2004, to 40% in 2006, and we have 10.01% to go in 2008 and we can get that done with your help.
I know the CW is to focus on contesting primaries with Blue Dogs and Indiana has more than enough of those, but I feel if we can replace Neo-Cons with Progressives we can marginalize both the Blue Dogs and the Republicans.

Friends, the loss of Congresswoman Julia Carson and the state being in mourning, has brought our fundraising to a halt and I need your help to keep our effort going.
Congresswoman Carson was Indiana's leading progressive and with her death and the question of which party will replace her 7th district seat up in the air, we need to insure a progressive voice in the Indiana delegation, and I will be that voice.
If I were a Blue Dog here in Indiana, fundraising would be easier, but as you all know, I am not, so fundraising is not easy and we need your help.
We are behin and I want to get things taken care of. Keeping a headquarters, insurance, utilities, salaries, stationary, on and on, it is not cheap, and we are frugal.
I am not taking a salary, so none of the money goes to me. I thought I would have access to my retirement money from the church and that is what I was going to live on while campaigning, but that is not happening, and I have been on the job search trying to find something to keep the personal bills paid and allow me to campaign. Something will happen on the personal side and we will make it work. It is a big adjustment moving from a parsonage and no house payment, to a house and all the costs, and no job!! But in the meantime, I am here asking for your help to keep the progressive voice alive in the 6th District of Indiana. We are in a tough spot both campaign wise, and personally, but it is temporary, and everything is going to be all right. We will move forward ( Sherri is about ready to pull her hair out, but I keep telling her everything is going to work out, and it will.). We do need your help now, and will need it all the way through to victory in November.
