BREAKING - Edwards' Press Conference

For those of you at work, or unable to access a TV, I am using today's diary to let you know what my (so far) favorite candidate has to say in the press conference he called for noon today. He is speaking from Chapel Hill, NC.

Edwards just announced that his wife's breast cancer has moved to the bone.

Edwards did not announced any effect on his Presidential Campaign at this time.

Elizabeth was diagnosed in 2004 and had a lumpectomy. She was declared cancer free in 2005. After her regular checkup on Monday, Edwards joined her for a conference with her physician, and rumors began to circulate that Ms. Edwards was found to have a reoccurance of the cancer. X-rays showed a possible fracture on her left side and a suspicious mass on her right ribs.

A biopsy showed the right side mass was malignant. The cancer has reoccured in the bone, a condition that is treatable, but not curable. Both expressed optimism at the managability of her condition.

Update - 12:04pm - Candy Crowley just announced that the Edwards Campaign has been pushing back hard against the Politico.com story that Edwards would drop out of the race as a result of the health info they received on Tuesday.

Update: - 12:07 - Edwards has been running in a consistent 3rd place against announced candidates for the Democratic Primary, although Al Gore does displace him to 4th when preferences are polled for all possible candidates.
