Live Strong, Elizabeth!

I admit that I broke out in tears watching the Edwards's press conference today. I was sad for them, and sad too for imagining what it would be like for my wife to be facing this someday perhaps. I still am not invested in any particular candidate at this point, but I know something that transcends politics when I see it. I respect the hell out of Elizabeth and John Edwards right now. I don't care whether you plan to vote for him or not. I honestly don't know yet myself.

I do know she is someone America should hold up as an example of what strength and determination are. I saw her speak during the '04 campaign and was blown away. The world needs more people like her. I also know what love and a strong marriage look like. We need to hold them up as an example of this too. Many of us can only pray that we could endure and love without condition in the face of what they've had to endure.

Other people have suggested donating and getting involved with organizations that fight cancer and support those with cancer. I'll throw my suggestion in too.

I saw John Edwards wearing a Live Strong bracelet. So, I ask you to donate to the Lance Armstrong Foundation in her honor. Go to their Donate page and click the In Honor/In Memory button. I have no idea how you would send her an e-card in honor of her, but there's a send an acknowledgement by mail option. Here's their campaign address.
