I'm sure folks here who watch cable can fill in more details. I never bought cable, so I don't watch it much.
From Taylor Marsh's website comes a report regarding FoxNews' handling of the story:
But when I heard Bush's boy Brit lead off with the line, paraphrasing here, Edwards is continuing his presidential campaign regardless of the fact his wife has bone cancer, I knew the report that followed would undoubtedly be a Fox "News" classic. I also knew it would solidify the Fox "News" is shameless credentials. However, the reality was worse.
Carl Cameron is a poor excuse for a journalist, which he proved again today. Get ready for the Edwards "sympathy surge," or "surge of sympathy," hissed Cameron in another report, tying the quote to Democrats. But he also made sure to include into his first piece John McCain's skin cancer and Rudy's prostate cancer, too. Shorter: don't forget our guys have cancer, too.
Taylor Marsh
I don't know much about Taylor Marsh, but here's something she writes about herself on her website:
Taylor Marsh is a radio show talk host, national blog reporter and author who’s been a consistent political, social and cultural force on TV and radio for over 15 years. On the web since 1996, Marsh shifted to blogging and blog reporting in late 2005, where her presence and impact have been explosive. Her adopted home is Los Angeles, California.
She seems to have FoxNews' number. They are unalturated slime and scum.
I also heard from a friend that Rush Limbaugh got Olberman's "Worst Person in the World" tonight for stating that Edwards will be waiting to see if he gets a "bump" in the polls from this news, and that he will then have to suspend his campaign if it doesn't materialize.
FoxNews and Limbaugh are scum. They have no decency at all.
Has anyone heard any other right wing attacks about this?
My local paper had Kathleen Parker's column as an op-ed today. It was another attack on Edwards as "cute." That seemed to be the Republican attack theme on Edwards until his wife got ill. In fairness to Parker, it was written before news of Elizabeth's illness surfaced. Still, the Republicans are worried about the popularity of all Democratic candidates. They should be worried. All of our candidates are good.
When FoxNews went after Obama with the false accusation that he attended a radical muslim grade school, I said we need to stick together when Republicans attack any of our candidates. FoxNews and its Republican paymasters are the real enemies, not fellow Democratic candidates.
FoxNews lost their debate after John Edwards said no. Let's keep the pressure on FoxNews. Friends don't let friends watch FoxNews. It's bad for their health and bad for America.
No more collaboration by Democrats by appearing on FoxNews.
Come on by and smack around FoxNews here.
Update: For more details on Limbaugh's statements, there is a diary up the road devoted to addressing Mr. Limbaugh.
