The Plunge Into Insanity

When I look here and elsewhere on the web at the discussions of and reaction to the events of the last few weeks, I find that I can best sum it up in one word: Insanity.

How bad is it? So bad that even when Democrats who voted against the Iraq supplemental appear on Daily Kos, they're attacked for it by a normally-sensible diarist -- and the people cheer on the attacker all the way to the Recommended list. And it's not just him doing it, either.

Think about that. They attack the Dems who voted the way they wanted them to vote. And get cheered here for their attacks.

Is this logical? Is this progressive? Is this even sane?

Or is this hate and fear shutting off people's brains?

I thought that the stupidity of the Pie Wars was DKos' lowest point. I was wrong. People eventually recovered from that. I don't think they're recovering from this.
