Former Tennessee/Washington D.C. Senator Fred Thompson, a clone of Dick Cheney who somehow manages to be likable to television viewers, issued the following statement:
Look, I can appreciate that Mayor Giuliani means well. But, the plum dang truth of the matter is that the man is a human jinx. Heck, do y'all remember Bernard Kerik, who the White House appointed because Giuliani endorsed him? And that was well after he knew that Kerik was mobbed up. With all due respect, being known as the kind of person Giuliani approves of is known as fightin' words back in McLean, Virg--er, I mean, Tennessee.
Former Massachusetts Mitt Romney said the following:
As a fellow pro-choice, pro-gay rights Republican, I would be honored to have Mayor Giuliani's endorsement.
When advised of Thompson's statement, Romney clarified his earlier statement:
Rudey Giuliani is a baby-killing, sodomite-loving fiend, and is dead to me. I do not want to be lumped in with the other people he has chosen to surround himself with, including that cocaine dealer who was running his South Carolina campaign.
Arizona Senator John "Keating Five" McCain, whose campaign is on life support at Wingnut General Hospital, was quoted as saying:
Rudey Giuliani has the poor judgment to not only select a cocaine dealer to run his South Carolina campaign, but then chose that cocaine dealer's crazy-ass white supremacist father to replace him. Giuliani is the only man I know who could associate his campaign with both white lines and white sheets.
Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, himself a liberal Democrat, would only say:
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
