Why?Keep It Simple Shithead!
Issue 2: Makes it easier to vote by allowing all Ohioans to vote by mail
Issue 3: Helps stop the influence of big money in elections by greatly reducing campaign contributions.
Issue 4: Stops the politicians from drawing their own legislative districts and puts an Independent Commission in charge of this process.
Issue 5: Places a bi-partisan Board of Supervisors in charge of Ohio's elections, instead of a partisan official who backs candidates and takes sides in elections.
As I walked to my polling place this afternoon, dreary from a night of studying psychomotor reflexes,I had a bad feeling about today as I looked at the ballot. I understood what each of the initiatives entailed, but from watching the commericials I knew Reform Ohio Now acts were going to fail.
We misunderestimated republicans again. The repubs confused the hell out of everyone! People in Ohio are more conservative than democrats in ohio believe. We need to adjust our compass. People will come out and vote against gay marriage, but RON was too involved, too many things going on, too much "violent" upheaval, for the "Too busy to REALLY pay attention" average voter.
Unfortunately, the commericials against RON were brilliant. They put it in the "big government bureacracy" frame, and thats what ended it. Despite how solid RON really was, Ohioians still love their RED tendancies. Today at my fraternity meeting, my brothers were talking about how they had no idea what they voted for.
well, this monday morning quarterbacking can be helpful, so please post your thoughts as to WHY RON FAILED!!!
