Ed Schultz "officially" announces that he's FOR impeachment.

(Ending voluntarily exile from DKos for a minute, to get this out there ASAP...)

Progressive radio host just announced that he is "officially" (his word) FOR impeachment. He said it should be "back on the table," and that when he goes to D.C. to do his radio show next week he's going to chat up (pressure?) Democratic Congresspeople about it.

I realize that Schultz is not everyone's favorite flavor here on DKos, but he does have a wide audience, especially for a progressive host -- whatever you want to define that as.

He also gets invited -- with increasing frequency -- onto mainstream media shows. He's a pretty regular guest on Larry King at this point. As laughable as Larry King is, he does get watched by people who are not that politically involved. The "I" word would really resonate there.

I'd say that if you support impeachment for the Bush gang, as I do, you could do worse than to spend a moment thanking Ed Schultz for coming around, and to encourage him to keep up the drumbeat. He reaches a lot of people in "red" America (I know, lame shorthand at this point) with his populist Dem stances. And as I said, yes, he is not everybody's cup of tea, but he has a pretty loud microphone these days.

You can email him at his site, and give Mr. Schultz kudos for coming out unequivocally for impeachment.

(Needless to say, if you don't support impeachment... um, don't do what I said. I'm not interested in arguing the merits of it in this thread, personally, but feel free.)

There is no transcript available for today's show yet, but I stand by the fact that Schultz said it in NO uncertain terms. He said there's no other way around the Bushies, since they will lie and stonewall forever if they're permitted to do so.
