The point is Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not doing her job of governing. Her job is not to do what President Bush tells her to do, but rather the peoples work as specified in the Constitution. Yes Bush's presidential approval ratings are below the gutter. But, so are Congress's.
Democrats run both houses of congress and will be held accountable for not doing their job of governing. From the time Democrats took control of congress until now, the Iraq war ceased to be a Bush / Republican war. It is a Republican / Democratic war and Democrats need to take responsibility.
Responsibility means stepping up and either saying there is nothing we can do in the face of Bush opposition or fighting Bush tooth and nail by stopping funding and introducing articles of impeachment against Bush and Cheney. Life is that simple.
Otherwise Democrats will be held responsible for continued US entanglement in Iraq. That is a loser of a position.
There is much I admire about Cindy Sheehan. She is letting Nancy Pelosi, Democrats, and Kossacks know and understand how untenable the current Democratic lack of leadership is in Congress on this issue.
I always thought Kossacks helped the Democratic Party primarily by actively informing the party of lack of viability of their positions, particularly their positions on the Iraq War. Now, I wonder if DailyKos understands that if Democrats do not increase their power in 2008 by winning more seats in the House and Senate and winning the presidency, then the party and DailyKos will become irrelevant. Listen to Cindy Sheehan. She is right. Or go join all those strategists who made the party irrelevant from 2002 until 2006.
