John Edwards thinks that our Presidential candidates have better things to do than to have a public feud. Today, he chided both frontrunner's campaigns for acting childish and for addressing their feud instead of the pressing issues that face the American people. Lets look at some of Edwards' remarks:
"If you're looking for what's wrong in Washington, why the system is broken, why the system doesn't work, one perfect example is what's been happening just over the course of the last four days," said Edwards, who spoke before Clinton and Obama.
"We've had two good people Democratic candidates for president who spent their time attacking each other instead of attacking the problems that this country is facing," Edwards said to a mixture of groans and applause.
"I got your attention with that one," he added.
Edwards couldn't be more right about this. With all that is at stake in this up-coming election it would be nice to see our two frontrunners attacking our problems with as much zeal as they attack each other. These problems aren't going to fix themselves and need to be addressed.
I have a great idea. Since the Obama and Clinton campaigns have so much fighting spirit, why don't they take on the big insurance and pharmaceutical companies like John Edwards has proposed? Edwards didn't pull any punches and put his money where his mouth is:
Edwards and Kucinich both took aim at health insurance and pharmaceutical companies as they touted universal health care plans. Edwards said he met a man in the Virginia mountains who couldn't afford to fix his cleft palate and thus was unable to talk until he was 50 years old.
"When are we going to stand up to these insurance companies and drug companies who are running this country?" Edwards rhetorically asked the crowd. "I am outraged at what is happening in the United States of America."

We all know that one of the main things wrong in this country is that we have an Administration that always thinks it is right. We have an Administration who would rather follow ideology than to really study a problem and do the right thing about it. We have a government that would rather dodge challenges and tough choices than meet them head-on. We have an administration that would rather fight idealogical battles than fight for the American people.
With all this talk of "reaching out" and "working with the other side", one has to really wonder if either of these candidates will truly ever be able to do that when they can't even get along with the people that are supposed to be on their side!!! Instead of addressing the issues that face the American people, they would rather bicker back and forth and keep some rivalry alive. I think Edwards hit the nail on the head. I think this shows that neither candidate will be any better at "working with others" than Edwards will.
John Edwards is the Democratic candidate who has the best vision for America. He is more concerned with fighting for our vision, than fighting with fellow Democrats. I think Edwards has a much better mix of maturity, experience, and yes, bi-partisanship than either Hillary or Obama. Their feud with each other, and not even the Republicans should make us all pause and ask, "Who is better to lead our party into the future"? To me, the only answer to that question is the answer to who has the best vision, John Edwards!!!
