Our 3rd story of the week is Harold Ford Channeling Joe Leiberman. On FOX with Hannity no less. Via Crooks and Liars:
I would have gone to Daily Kos and told them, I think they’re wrong the way you go about practicing your politics. If you’re serious about winning the war and bringing the country together, get another message and another set of tactics...
I'm now actually GLAD he lost the Senate Race.
Our 2nd story of the week is Rudy Guiliani. Could he piss off first responders even more???? Via Rawstory
Rudy Giuliani drew outrage and indignation from Sept. 11 first-responders yesterday by saying he spent as much time - or more - exposed to the site's dangers as workers who dug through the debris for the missing and the dead.
Speaking to reporters at a Cincinnati Reds ballgame he caught between fund-raisers, the GOP front-runner said he helped 9/11 families and defended himself against critics of how he managed the attack's aftermath.
"This is not a mayor or a governor or a President who's sitting in an ivory tower," Giuliani said. "I was at Ground Zero as often, if not more, than most of the workers. I was there working with them. I was exposed to exactly the same things they were exposed to. So in that sense, I'm one of them."
WOW. Is he TRYING to lose? I mean does anyone really, except for the 29%ers, think this guy can still run on his debunked 9/11 record? He's obviously gunning for Bush's dwindling base.
Our top story of the week is a doozy. After Bush's presser yesterday Tweety comes off the tracks. Via Think Progress:
Calling Bush "powerful" on three separate occasions, Matthews marveled at the president’s defense of his foreign policy:
We were given a rare opportunity to hear the real philosophy of this administration with regard to the war in Iraq. A powerful rendition by the president of why we’re there. When he talked about the fact that we can support emerging democracies in the Middle East, and that’s the only way we can prevent future 9/11’s, you’re getting to the heart of why this administration is fighting that war in Iraq.
"This president is ready to fight like a rock through the rest of his term," Matthews proclaimed. "He made it clear that he’s going to fight as long as it takes to develop a democracy in Iraq. There’s not going to be any change come September."
GET A ROOM ALREADY!!!!!
