We all walk this Earth together. As obvious as that may be we still use the concept of 'seperation' as a tool. It divides people from eachother along a wide array of human life. We have color, property, class and education. A finer point on it would be,housing, income, diction, region.
Still finer friend, neighbor, lover and the hated. Plus even finer points to many to use in a diary.
As hard as we try to put oursleves above or better than the next person the further and further we get from the real truth, that we are one humanity. For the last 5000 years we've done a fantastic job of not recognizing our essiential unity. We warred on eachother and the Planet to the point that the Eastern Hemisphere was a huge garbage dump by the 1400's. Filled with disease, famine, religious wars, and boundless sufferage by the poor. All for some imaginary 'boundry' between humans.
Comming here, Cloumbus was so overwhelmed by the Native People's generousity and kindness,he called them 'Indios' meaning Children of God'. His handlers back in Europe quickly trumped that by labeling them 'Indian', meaning Without the Spirit of God'. Yet another 'boundry line'. One that unleashed the most horrific terrors prior to the Nazi's.
They too were great at 'seperationist' thinking. The thinking that still goes on to this day
There's a purpose to this life. One that has nothing to do with finding all the differences, oddities, and reasons for seperating ourselves from eachother and all living things. Things are seperated in this realm, because we need to understand our essiential unity with all of it.
Decoding the genome has come a long way on that front. They have found that the gene for human sense of smell, come from the fruit fly. The gene for human skin comes from cabbage. The Human Genographic project goes even further in showing how we're more alike than different. Slowly, ever so slowly such 'discoveries' are changing our minds. Or more correctly 'opening 'our minds to the 'Old Understanding'.
The Native Americans have for hundreds of years have taught their children that within our bodies resides all of life. Little bits of everything come together to make up this thing we recognize as a'body'. All truly Spiritual Cultures recognize this truth without question. Modern Cultures...not so much.
A 'Modern Society',such as ours in America, has slowly over time lost more and more of it's connection to the untiy of Life. It was on the down low by the time Europians got here, but that was their hang-up. The Indios People that met them, even seeing them as different, still treated them like 'Family they had'nt met yet'. Because they understood the essiental unity, they could do nothing else but be helpful.
We have had to go through some real hell to even begin to think in these terms even slightly. But it is true. As we kill on one side of the Planet so we kill ourselves. As a People, the Children of Earth, we need to end the useless task of dividing people into groups, seperating by color, religion, geographic location. We must understand the breath you take each morning is shared with every other air breathing lifeform on Earth. We share the same pains, emotional and physical, same love, same desires, same need for a healthful environment to survive in.
It won't be the willingness to use force of arms that will 'Save the World'. It will be our desire to meet eachother with 'open arms' that will hearld of arrival as a truly 'Advanced Society'.
