Every day of September (almost) I'm making a contribution to a new candidate, announcing it here on Daily Kos, and encouraging you to join me. If one person matches my contribution on my ActBlue page, I'll double my contribution; if ten people match it, I'll triple. Details here.
jnhobbs matched my contribution from a couple of days ago to Nancy Boyda, so I'm sending her $20 more today
As the 3rd quarter draws near its end, I want to send some assistance to Clint Curtis, who is well positioned to take advantage of still more fallout from the Abramoff scandal. Follow me below the fold for more.
You probably remember Clint's story; he was hired to write software that would let the user change touchscreen voting results - and he thought it was to protect the vote, that knowing how the machines could be hacked would help devise security. But no, the man who hired him, Tom Feeney, incumbent Congressman from Florida's 24th district, had simpler, and more nefarious, objectives: he just wanted to ensure his own election, by hook or, more to the point, by crook. So Clint went public and ran against Feeney in 06, and lost, but with a none-too-shabby 42% of the vote in this PVI R+3 district against an incumbent.
- Now Feeney is not only at risk because of his attempts to monkey with the voting machines, but also because he's connected to Abramoff, and under investigation.
So Clint, who posts here, has an even better shot at it in 2008; he's getting $20 toward that end from me today; won't you please help him bring up his third quarter numbers? Thanks!
