One reason I support A.G. Stumbo and want him to run against McConnell is that he has been a tireless supporter of our environment here in Kentucky and has constantly made Environmental education a priority during his life in public service. You don't have to take my word for it, just look at this story from before his time as A.G. of Kentucky when the North American Association for Environmental Education Awarded then Representative Stumbo for Outstanding Service by an individual in 2002:
The NAAEE at it's national convention in Boston in August, recognized Representative Greg Stumbo as a national leader in environmental education for his efforts to spearhead HB 174 through the Kentucky General Assembly last winter. This bill provides a funding mechanism for environmental education and the cleanup of old solid waste landfills.
Representative Greg Stumbo, House Majority Leader for the Kentucky House of Representatives, has played a dynamic role in shaping Kentucky's environment and environmental education policy. Greg Stumbo has a vison of a clean Kentucky and a citizenry that is environmentally literate.
It goes on:
He has tackled the issues of poverty, job creation and eco-tourism and has consistently woven the need for appropriate environmental legislation and the funds to develop environmental education's infrastructure into all of those issues.
They conclude:
For the past many years Representative Stumbo has been an environmental champion. He has worked to create a cleaner Kentucky, a bottle bill, and to clean up landfills, but the reason for this nomination is that he has worked tirelessly for years to ensure that the next generation of Kentuckians is environmentally literate and active. His actions will ensure that the Bluegrass State has a secure and sustainable economic and environmental sound future.

It seems Attorney General Stumbo led the fight for Kentucky's environment during his days in the Kentucky General Assembly. He would lead the fight on the same issues as Senator from Kentucky.
In case you missed my earlier diary detailing Greg's stance on upholding the Constitution, here is what he had to say about the FISA bill:
Greg is absolutely not in favor of Expanding the Government's powers to blatently violate the constitution that way. Even as a prosecutor, he understands that prosecuting entities have to have checks and balances, and particularly because of how the Republicans have politicized the Justice Dept.
The simple truth is, if they run into something they believe to be a credible threat, they would have no trouble getting a subpoena for the wiretap. They already have very broad latitude. They know that, but they use the fear of terrorism to justify their actions.
Thanks again.

He would also fight for generations of Constitutional protections for all Americans in the Senate. We desperately need that. Please go to his Exploratory site, look around and encourage him to run:

Better yet, make an investment in the defeat of Mitch McConnell, and help a public servant who has fought to protect our children from predators, our consumers from the same, and would fight to uphold our Constitution in the Senate here:

Greg Stumbo is a political fighter who isn't afraid to go toe to toe with the gold plated Republican smear machine McConnell will unleash. We can win this race and unseat McConnell here in Kentucky but we will need help!!! This is the most important Senate race in the nation in 08!!
Best wishes fellow Democrats!!
