Greg Stumbo Can Beat Mitch McConnell!!

Here in Paducah, Kentucky, we have a very Conservative newspaper called the Paducah Sun. I had been trying to get a letter to the editor in support of Greg Stumbo, and after three tries finally succeeded. I would like to share my letter with everyone:

Kentucky's Attorney General Greg Stumbo recently announced an exploratory committee to research running against Mitch McConnell for Kentucky's Senate seat in 2008. I support Greg Stumbo to run and win against McConnell. I would like to share a few reasons why.

First, Mitch McConnell has failed to support the interests of Kentuckians. He is much more interested in rubber-stamping every failed policy of President Bush. Confirmation of this came with his vote against the SCHIP program, which denied almost 68,000 poor children in Kentucky health insurance. If a lawmaker will not stand up for our children, they do not deserve our support.

Greg Stumbo has many accomplishments to point to as Attorney General also. He was a tireless consumer advocate during this time. He also made protection of our children from Internet predators a high priority and made many arrests of those who would prey upon them. As a state legislator he made cleaning up Kentucky's environment a priority and recieved national recognition for it.

Greg Stumbo is also a fighter. He stands up for what he believes, and will not be afraid to fire back when Mitch McConnell uses his special interest money to smear the Democratic candidate. Greg Stumbo will stand toe to toe with McConnell and fight fire with fire.

Kentucky finally needs a U.S. Senator who cares more about the people of Kentucky than lining his pockets with special interest money and rubber-stamping every failed move of President Bush. Greg Stumbo has the right experience and attributes to beat McConnell. He would give Kentuckians a Senator they could be proud of once again. I urge everyone to join me in supporting him.

As a Kentucky Democrat who desperately wants to send Mitch McConnell home, I wrote this from the heart. Greg Stumbo has not only been a staunch defender of children from predators, but he has defended our consumers against companies who would fleece them. He has protected our troops from having their identities stolen while they fight for Bush's failed vision. He has shown our corrupt Republican Governor that nobody is above the law. During his time in public service he has defended the environment of Kentucky. Best of all he is a Democratic fighter who supports the Constitution and came out against the FISA Amendment that curtails generations of Constitutional liberties. We can defeat McConnell in 2008, and Greg Stumbo is the man to do it. We will need help from all Democrats to get it done because of the huge special interest war chest McConnell has amassed. Please keep us in mind and help Kentucky and Greg Stumbo Ditch Mitch in 2008!!
