The lack of recognition of the overwhelming odds and skill that it took for Barack Obama to win this nomination with a political dynasty as the opponent, in the easiest terms can be deemed as insider power player politics at its worst. The entire political power infrastructure has been put onto its head by the American people! This campaign represents the embodiment of "power of the people" and the American ideal of democracy. From volunteers, voters, fundraising, and now the Obama Fellow program launching, the brokers that have dominated the airwaves and political structure in Washington are at a loss for common acknowledgement of Obama's success.
The MSM and Press are the prime examples of the loathsome relative dismissal of this victory within the Democratic party. It is offensive to me as a supporter, who has voted bi-partisan since I was of age to vote, that this historic moment of the Obama campaign has become a litany of Clinton press releases describing her "state of the race".
In the course of history, at this point in time, especially with such a prolonged primary race, the respectful action of the MSM would be to reflect on Obama's journey to this nomination, what it took, the millions of supporters from every walk of life that have been a part of nominating the first African-American Presidential Nominee!!! Maybe that story is coming, maybe they are waiting for her concession, who knows. But the non-existent concession of the Clinton campaign should not be the gauge in which to recognize the relevance.
I have respect for Hillary Clinton, she is smart and a brilliant politician, but to make this monumental time in our history about her campaign, rather than Barack Obama, is probably the crystalizing example as to WHY he is clinching the nomination - CHANGE!
So....CONGRATULATIONS, SENATOR BARACK OBAMA, the presumptive Democratic Nominee for the President of the United States! Congratulations to everyone who has supported this remarkable movement! It was a fantastic primary race, the likes we probably will never see again for a very, very, long time. Let's celebrate, as Democrats, for a ride of a lifetime.
