I was headed home tonight and spied a car weaving in and out of lanes. Normal bad driving for the Poconos, where speeding and tail-gating seem the norm. But it wasn't the usual potential for a fender bender that caught my attention, it was the Bush-Cheney '04 bumper sticker on the trunk that got me "fired up and ready to go."
From the New York Times....

I pulled in front of the car as we came through the tolls, and as the driver must have noticed my "Obama '08" bumper sticker on my car, saluted the misguided driver with a "V" peace sign held high and waving as I drove in front of him.
I had second thoughts about my actions when I got home.
I guess I regretted my actions a bit when I got home, thinking I had crossed the line into road rage territory. But I also thought that this sticker, purposely left on the car, was a symbol that this person still supported the shrub, after all the lies, after all the deaths, after our economy is tanking - he was going to keep that sticker on his car, a red white and blue F**k You to anyone who might see it.
If that was his intention, he succeeded. He got me to react.
But then I thought - "righteous anger." We are on a mission to drive the Constitutional shredding war-mongers from the temple of Democracy, and while flipping the bird to the bushie would have been really road rage, the peace sign "V" had to have least made him think a little.
I will be at the East Stroudburg American Freedom Festival this July 4th, doing Vote for Change and making a video on the topic "How Do You Define Democracy."
Time to get fired up, and ready to go.
