Bill Clinton and Black Folks - Hey Bill: " It's Not that Kind of Party... Anymore"

There are a lot of folks in mainstream media that believe that Bill Clinton has that golden political touch. Well, don't include me in that group. Bill Clinton may have stature with the Congressional Black Caucus members who kissed his ring throughout the democratic primary, but I have my serious doubts to whether Bill Clinton can make much inroads into black voters. Lisa Lerer's article at Politico.com notes, "Despite his widely panned performance on his wife’s behalf in the Democratic primary campaign, public relations experts say that if he moves quickly, former President Bill Clinton should be able to avoid any lasting damage to his legacy."

"His opportunity to set things right is immediate," said Richard Levick, a crisis management expert at Levick Strategic Communications. "He needs to put this story behind him by Labor Day. That’s the time most of America starts really focusing on the presidential race."

AAPP: I don't know what Richard Levick has been smoking, but Bill Clinton is no longer respected in the African American community, and he would have to make many apologies to black folks over many years to gain that respect back. but that is just my opinion. Your opinion may be different.
