Once again, the Democrats disappoint. If it isn't the FISA bill, it's Barack equivocating on just about everything. And the fact is, it's a losing strategy. But as been said been many times before, if anyone can pull defeat from the jaws of victory, it's the Dems.
Haven't they figured out that the American voter would rather have someone stand for something -- even if it's crazy shyte like Bush -- than NOTHING at all? Geesus, how many lost elections does it take for the Democrats to have a real man or woman stand up for ANYTHING.
We know there are exceptions. Feingold, Boxer, Kennedy, but they are few and far between.
I'm beginning to believe this isn't just squeamishness on the Dems part. I'm beginning to believe that they are as in bed with American corporate interests as the lot of them with few exceptions. But then, even if they are, it doesn't help if you don't get elected.
I admire the party of FDR, JFK and RFK. This party I don't recognize. I thought I was starting to with Obama but am having my doubts. Unless BHO is working on some level I haven't figured out yet, and is a much shrewder politician than I already give him credit for, I just see a similar pattern of previous elections.
I know the Democratic faithful, including many on this site, are fairly smug and certain about this election. I'm not. I think Obama was on the right track during the primary. I see him losing his way lately. Let's hope it's not a trend, or even worse, a strategy.
I just don't see why the Republicans kiss the arse of their base while Dems kiss the arse of the Republican base as well.
