So what happened?
He thought they could have done far more to help him in 2004, and hasn't forgotten that Hillary Clinton was one of the first to criticize him over what he called a "botched joke" about U.S. troops in Iraq in 2006.
Hillary Lost this one on her own
"I think we have to look forward here we don't need to be refighting the 2004 election as much as President Bush would like that to happen," Clinton told reporters at an event for military families in New York. "What Senator Kerry said was inappropriate and I believe we can't let it divert us from looking at the issues that are at stake in our country."
Granted, Kerry sorta did himself in with the "Stuck in Iraq" comments, however having Clinton Pile On certainly didn't win her any favor.
I find the timing of the endorsement incredibly interesting. I believe it's a signal to the main party regulars that HIllary doesn't have this wrapped up by a long shot. And for it to come out so soon after Hillary's close win in NH certainly provided for a sweet irony of timing.
Note: This diary is for all the Clinton Supporters who discounted Kerry's endorsement as worthless. The fact is, there may have only been 2 or 3 sweeter nods in the larger party sphere than Kerry's and with Kerry choosing Obama, there is a greater chance that Gore and Kennedy may also move in that direction as well.
