The past few days, it has been freezing here, my 19, soon to be 20, year old daughter told me she was engaged to be married, and my wife has the flu so I have spent more time on the computer than usual.
I love the passion I see on this site, and always have, but children’s rhymes aside, words can and do hurt at times, and the line of falling in love for the primary and falling in line for the general, needs to be tossed out there every once and a while because any Democratic candidate for President is honestly better than all of the Republican field, in my opinion.
So all of you, no matter who you support for President, give me three minutes of your time below for something I hope most of you can agree on.
I am running for Congress in Indiana’s 6th District so it really matters to me whom the nominee is, because coattails can help defeat Mike "I am a Christian, Conservative, and Republican, in that order" Pence.

When Congress is in session, the Pence family lives in Arlington, Virginia. Mike describes himself as 'a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order.'
Now I myself am a Christian, but that is private, and I am also an American, which I think might be a more important way of identifying a candidate for Congress to most Americans, but Mike doesn’t agree America should be in his top three. I want to beat this guy. Yes, this guy who said

I really want to beat this guy and I need all of your help to do it.
I am viable and I am asking for your support and here are a few reasons I feel that I deserve your help.
The economy is going to be an issue this cycle, and I studied and taught Economics, and have a background in finance. I can speak in public We are on the correct on all the issues. I am running for the right reasons, and after getting 40% last cycle, while spending just over $45,000, we are a good return on investment opportunity. Our 40% was up from the 28% in 2004, and there was not a 12 point Dem wave in 2006, we made a difference and with funding, we can do a couple of mailers, some well placed TV ads, GOTV calls and even more boots on the ground, in addition to repeating what we did last cycle and we can win. The northern part of this district was represented by Phil Sharp for 20 years, the southern part was Lee Hamilton, Democrats have won this district and I can and will win here.
Last cycle we gained name recognition and voter trust and we knew it was going to be a four year effort to knock Pence off, and we are going to do that, but I need the help of some of the most committed members from all of the Presidential backer camps.
Some math;
We, as the Daily Kos community are close to the 150,000 UID number. Let’s say there are 50,000 actual people that come here daily. 10 percent of that number is 5000. 10 percent of that number is 500. If 500 of the most ardent supporters for Presidential candidates each gave 100 dollars to our effort, we would immediately match what we did the entire campaign last cycle. If 10 percent, or 5000 of you gave 100 dollars, we would fund the entire campaign immediately with an amount that would enable a win.
I know that 5000 people are not going to read this diary, but millions could become aware of our effort if it where in the hands of passionate activists who might take one day for one candidate that all progressives could come together over and could justly and unequivocally claim responsibility for putting a progressive in place of a Neo Con. Wouldn’t that be nice come November? Someone please consider organizing such a one-day national fundraising effort for us.
So vote for us at DFA please, and consider my proposal for making a real difference as said above, because regardless of which of our party candidates is the next President, they are going to have to have someone that will both support them, and keep them in check. I am one of those people.
