Change is in the air. One woman and one African American male will become the candidate of the Democratic Party and this is substantial. Further, there may be even more history made if they end up on the same ticket together, which with a wink, they both seemed open to consideration of such an event. The very definition of change itself.
Now with the very collegial, yet direct debate behind them, the press will undoubtedly be looking to stir a pot that they hope will attract ratings. Whatever happened to the time when our news services actually reported the news rather than try to create it? I think the acrimony is something all of us are just as much guilty for proferring. Too bad so many of us fall into the trap. If the candidates themselves can have such a friendly conversation with each other, if they can hug at the end and even talk about having each other on their prospective tickets, why can't we just focus on the issues rather than the acrimony? Both candidates showed tonight that they are indeed uniters, not dividers. Can't we all as the voting public do the same thing? Just lets focus on the issues, leave the angst to the Bushbot republicans, as they are going to tear each other apart, because issues are the last thing they want to focus on. Grandpa McCain will face the anger of the republican conservatives who dislike and don't trust him, so lets just let him deal with that while we all work on getting one of these democrats or possibly (both) elected to the presidency and vice presidency so that we can return republicans back to a permanent minority!
