There's been a decent amount of coverage of the fact that Sarah Palin, as governor, has backed the legalization of aerial wolf hunting in Alaska.

So imagine my surprise on reading this August 2005 complaint e-mail from Sarah to then-Alaska State Trooper Colonel Julia Grimes, making the following allegation (PDF) against her ex-brother-in-law, Trooper Mike Wooten:

Another example that Wooten likes to share with others regarding his unethical and illegal hunting techniques involves a wolf hunt where he illegally chased down the animal with his snowmachine to kill it unfairly.

Disgusting.

I speak, of course, of the craven hypocrisy of the woman who would write a weepy complaint letter like that, and then permit hunting practices even more unethical and unfair than Wooten's.

She and Todd try to get Wooten selectively targeted for prosecution for illegally shooting a moose (on her sister's unused permit), even though Sarah's father butchered the moose himself, meaning that both her sister and father may both be legally liable. And she even pretends to be horrified at the prospect of his unfairly hunting wolves on snowmachines even though she actively promotes their hunting from planes.

What a psycho.
