Please Help My Son! (In Case McCain is Elected).

If you have read my diaries before, you know I live in conservative, republican Georgia and I volunteer for the Obama campaign. What you do not know about me is that my 11 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 2 years ago. He takes insulin shots 4 to 5 times a day and will continue to do so until there is a cure. All his doctors believe a cure will be discovered in the next 10-20 years BUT it relies heavily on stem cell research. As you know, Barack Obama and Joe Biden believe in and support stem cell research. John McCain waffles on this issue and Sarah Palin is opposed to stem cell research. This Saturday my entire family will be walking in the Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a Cure marathon in Atlanta Georgia. We ask family and friends to make donations in support of my son. Follow me after the break to see what I am doing to help Obama and what you can do to help me!

My whole family plans to wear Obama shirts and buttons while we walk. There will be thousands of people and media present as this is happening in Atlanta, Georgia. Our hope is to talk to as many participants and viewers on the sidelines about voting early and voting Obama. With any luck we will get on national television for some free publicity for Obama.
Here is where you can help. We have a goal to raise $500.00 and only 24 hours left to do it. I know Daily Kos to be an excellent place to find support and encouragement. If you can recommend this diary and keep it at the top for the rest of today, I am sure we can blow away our goal. I am counting on my fellow Kossacks to help me and my son. I refuse to picture a world where John McCain and Sarah Palin are in charge but I am also a realist and believe in planning for the worst but HOPING for the best.
