To those who hate me

This will probably be short and maybe I didn't get the form right.

I just wanted to say to those who hate me for my political views, who wish my family and I would be thrown out of the country or killed, here is what I want for you and your family:

Great health care and great schools.

A place to live that is safe, comfortable, and healthy.

Food on your table that won't make you sick.

More of a say than consumerism can give you in things that are important to your life, like the purity and availability of your drinking water, the quality of your food as I mentioned before, and how affordable, accessible, and safe energy will be in the long run.

I want these things so you and your children will have every opportunity to succeed in life. I want them for you and for me and for everyone else because I think that would make our world a better place. I want them because we're all in this together whether we like it or not.

I don't want to tell you how to live your life any more than I want you to tell me how to live mine. I want us to work together to find ways of getting as close to what we all want as we can. We keep arguing in catch phrases over what we want the world to look like, but really we want pretty much the same things. What we disagree about is how to get there.

Our enemy isn't each other. Our enemy, if you want to call it that, is a mindset that makes us want to throw away our chances at having more than enough for the slight possibility that if we scrabble hard enough on our own we might be able to grab everything. We're treating life like a lottery. We pay and pay and pay and sure, every now and then one of us strikes it rich... but for the most part we just get poorer and poorer a dollar at a time.

That's how much this progressive/liberal/socialist/whatever hates America. I hate America so much I want all of us on every side of our arguments to be happy and healthy and involved in running it.
