Rachel Maddow: Obama's Press Secretary?

I'm watching Rachel Maddow's interview with Barack Obama, and their ability to talk in depth about issues and progressives v. conservatives is a pretty good back and forth.

I'm wondering if someone like Rachel as a Press Secretary would be a great idea. She seems like someone who could keep him on his toes and he seems to like that kind of back and forth.

Now, I know Rachel's star is rising, but it's rising in an environment of opposition against the Republican brand. Where does she go when an Obama administration is in place? She might, very well, be a new mold for a Press Secretary.

Personally, I think it would be a great idea. She has a sharp mind, her own ideas and she loves politics and policy. Plus that, I think she would push back, which I think Obama wants.

If you think I'm nuts, that's fine. You're not the first. But, I've often thought about who would be suited to be the public face of an Obama Administration, and personally, I can't think of a cooler person to handle that job than Rachel.

What are your thoughts? Got any better ideas?
