I was actually in Atlanta looking for a home in Decatur (Decatur is a small city about 6 miles from Midtown Atlanta), so this event was icing on the cake. I am now determined to relocate - Decatur is just beautiful and the people are warm and welcoming (and 75% Democratic).
My 14 year old (see the handsome lad in the Barack n Roll photo below) will be graduating from high school in May (yes, you read it correctly), and will attend Emory University in Atlanta - hence our plans to relocate. I decided on the Decatur community for several reasons, but after this trip there is no doubt in my mind.
You should know that I had never been to a political rally in my life until this event. I live in Montgomery, Alabama. Need I say more?
To say I was moved and impressed with the people I met in Decatur is such an understatement. Even with the economy in the ditch, I am now more determined than ever to sell my property, get out of Montgomery, and move to this lovely city in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia and live out my life.
I hope this isn't TOO many pics, it was hard to pick only a few!
If any of you Kossacks are in Decatur, give a shout out (Avondale too)! Your town is awesome and I am looking foward to living and working there for the rest of my life.
Fabulous crowd!
