As you'll remember, a large disparity in the exit polling took place when John Kerry ran against George W Bush in 2004. Kerry was leading 51-48, numbers which practically reversed themselves when the actual election results came in.
Of course, exit polls are notoriously unreliable anyway. There is no way for them to do the careful demographic sampling that they do in telephone canvassing before the election. But the public can be heavily motivated by media narratives, and if CNN and other cable news outlets start calling a massive Obama blowout, it could lead people in Western areas to skip voting.
Make sure you don't let that happen. Make sure everyone you know casts their ballot. The only way to get your candidate elected is to vote for him... and that is still true no matter what is reported on the news!!
