Everybody's gotten the tips on what to bring with them for a full day manning the lines....here's a couple of extras (keep in mind today in Florida is forecast around 83 and partly cloudy....not as bad as it could have been.
I see rain and a few fronts around on the national map so be prepared for what both the Republicans and Mother Nature can throw at you.
I've got one of those portable tents that fold up into a heavy ass carryall, the ones you see at art shows and such, so that's in the car for better sun and shower protection than the big beach umbrella. A few folding chairs, sports chairs and card table is going to come in handy. Cooler with ice and a case of water, plus a couple of sandwiches and snacks for a long day. A bag of half price Halloween Dubble Bubble Gum for the voters. Two cell phones plus chargers, and I tossed in a long outdoor extension cord and power strip in the hope that I can tap in to an outside outlet somewhere and share the juice. A camera and video camera as well, just in case. This state allows photos and video only outside the 100 foot canvass line but it may come in handy to document individuals and their ID's should they be prevented from casting a regular ballot.
The Obama campaign asked us to wear blue shirts and ties, no jeans so I'm out of my element today. I don't know how long the tie will last as I usually only choke myself for funerals and special occasion. I'm looking at today as a funeral for the Republican party and the Bush Administration, so I'll rock the tie. Brought a couple of extra shirts in case it's really hot...
If anyone else has the time to add ideas, have at it, and enjoy what is going to be a historical day!
GOBAMA!
