Throughout the entire piece, Kristol steadfastly refers to Senator Obama solely by his last name, a total of fourteen times. I always thought the the Times had some sort of rule concerning the use of honorifics. But I guess that the editors are so tired of dealing with Kristol's weekly load of crap that they don't even bother. They're just waiting for his contract to expire. Most persons who write for a living know that you at least use an individual's proper name and or title at least in the first referencing. But not Billy boy. You can almost feel the shudder that ran up and down his spine (what little there is of that) every time he had to type the name "Obama".
And not content to dishonor the man, he gratuitously dishonors his historic achievement with this little gem:
In other words, this was a good Democratic year, but it is still a center-right country. Conservatives and the Republican Party will have a real chance for a comeback — unless the skills of the new president turn what was primarily an anti-Bush vote (emphasis mine) into the basis for a new liberal governing era.
What a poor petty little man Kristol is.
