Bush to visit Intrepid museum

The newly refurbished Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum continues its grand reopening week activities today with a Veterans Day event highlighted by an appearance by President George W. Bush.

Also on hand will be former astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Scott Carpenter, Gov. David A. Paterson and 2,500 invited veterans. The museum reopens to the public at 2 p.m.

Bush will tour the historic aircraft carrier late in the morning to see the type of Avenger aircraft his father flew during World War II before being presented with the 2008 Intrepid Freedom Award.

The award recognizes world leaders who embody the ideals of world freedom and democracy. Past honorees include presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, prime ministers Yitzhak Rabin, Margaret Thatcher and Silvio Berlusconi, and Russian President Boris Yeltsin.

Is this a joke? Are we talking about the same George W. Bush?

The one who started the first war of aggression in America's history?

The man who shat on the Geneva Conventions?

The man who has raped the Constitution of the United States?

The man who has violated the rights of his fellow citizens?

The man who established torture as standard operating procedure for dealing with "enemies" and "terrorists"?

The man who allowed a major American city to become the world's largest trash heap?

No. Couldn't be. Must be some other George W. Bush.
