As I lay in the hospital bed, waiting for the next verdict from the next doctor, I listened. Listened to the News Bytes, of how if we give the richest of the rich, Insurance companies and banks, a glut of money, they would free up the credit market allowing us to get more stuff, cars, bars, clothes, and Christmas Presents. I wondered if I needed any of those things freeing up the credit market would "give me"
Could I use a new Car? Well I can't afford the gas so I guess not.
How about a new house? No Social Security refused me disability, and my little business can not pay me anymore, so no I can't keep the house I have let alone buy a new one. And with the cost of energy these days, I would not want a bigger house anyway. I am cold when I am home, since I can not afford to pay the light bill.
Will they let me borrow money to pay this hospital? No bad risk. How about a loan to pay off all the rest of the loans? REALLY bad risk.
The last sound byte said I bought a house I could not afford, and the over priced mortgage was my fault. But my job paid me enough to pay it then, I am sick now, there is no pay for sick. There is no health insurance for sick, no assistance, only blame.
Christmas presents? Do I need them, right now I would like to be healthy again, Christmas is just another commercial day. For Christmas I would like to be able to pay my bills, so I guess I will wait for my share to trickle down from my bank to my account.
So I listened a little more, waiting for the "bail out" or "rescue plan' that WOULD benefit me and my family.
And there was none.
We elected change, pray god there is some coming.
