What President Bush could accomplish in his final days in office.

...(H)e could tell various admirals to stop moaning about how difficult it would be to deal with the pirates off the coast of Somalia (isn't keeping the shipping lanes open a core mission of the Navy?) and order the Navy to clobber them. If need be, the Marines would no doubt be glad to recapitulate their origins and join in by going ashore in Africa to destroy the pirates' safe havens.

Meanwhile, we seem to have al Qaeda mostly on the run (though not defeated).

One last thing: Bush should consider pardoning--and should at least be vociferously praising--everyone who served in good faith in the war on terror, but whose deeds may now be susceptible to demagogic or politically inspired prosecution by some seeking to score political points.

Bush might want to give some of these public servants the Medal of Freedom at the same time he bestows the honor on Generals Petraeus and Odierno. They deserve it.

William Kristol is truly despicable. So many epithets have been hurled at him that it is hard to imagine anything he hasn't already been called. But when we come right down to it, Kristol is a soulless amoral self-righteous prick. He has a blood lust unequaled since the time of the Borgias.
He takes what can only be described as a psycho-sexual delight in death and destruction.

Right down to the bitter end, he seeks to justify and reward those who have dragged the good name and honor of the United States through the sewers and charnal house of an unjust war. He is shameless. He is morally bankrupt.

And just for good measure, he offers up the blood of more of our young men and women in suggesting that they be called upon to fight the Somali pirates. You can almost hear him humming the Marine Hymn about the shores of Tripoli.

I have a suggestion, Bill. We'll send some more of our sons and daughters to fight your wars after you send yours.
