A few minutes ago I woke up, looked at the time, saw that it was 6:30 and ran out of bed.
I was so excited to vote.
I rushed into the bathroom. I took a shower. I shaved. I put on my clothes. I grabbed my copy of Stendhal and my voting card. I put a banana in my pocket. Then I headed across the street to the polling booth.
There was a cool breeze in the air and it was dark outside. I began to wonder: shouldn't the sky be out?
I told myself, "No, today is a historic day so perhaps the sun is late."
Then I wound my way to the polling place and looked around and saw that it was empty and my heart sank.
My first thought was: all those reports about historic turn out were wrong; we are doomed.
Then I turned around and asked an old woman if the voting booths had been moved.
She informed me that it was still Monday night.
Well, at least now I don't have to get ready for my night shift later.
