With all due respect to Mr. Vogel, Sarah de Medici has already begun her climb to power. You will recall that when her erstwhile mentor Senator Ted Stevens was convicted on seven felony charges, she was among the first to call for him to "do the right thing" and resign.
She's well aware that whether Stevens eventually loses the election or gets expelled from the Senate if he does, Alaskan law requires the calling of a special election within ninety days of the seat becoming vacant.
Want to take a wild guess who's going to run for the seat? Uh-huh.
That's one small step for a pitbull...one giant leap for Sister Sarah.
