Exclusive: TVNewser has learned Fox News will debut a new program at 9pmET, entitled "Hannity," featuring Sean Hannity as host. The program premieres January 12.
"Hannity" will include a "Great American Panel" of three nightly in studio guests — a liberal, a conservative and an "X factor." The show will mix commentary, interviews and special segment like a "Hate Hannity Hotline."
This will be first time in FNC's 12-year history it will alter programming at the 9pmET timeslot.
Since Alan Colmes left Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" a couple weeks ago, the network has been unwilling to say whether Sean Hannity would take on another co-host or go it alone.
But now, TVNewser answers that question: "Hannity" will premiere on January 12.
While it may be risky to mess with the formula of the top-rated show at 9 p.m., Hannity pulls in over 13 million radio listeners on his own each day. So it shouldn't be too much of a stretch.
There will be some others talking, too. Three nightly guests will appear on the "Great American Panel," including at least one liberal voice.
As media watchers guessed who could fill the liberal role on the show, Colmes stayed out of it. When asked if another co-host could take his place after twelve years, Colmes told Politico he was "sure there are many who could do as well or better."
In the end, Fox decided against adding a liberal's name to the marquee.

In my opinion, Sean Hannity is one of the most vile, disgusting purveyors of lying Republican talking points in the media. I'm sure that Hannity will do quite well in the ratings, despite the fact that my television will never, ever be tuned into his farcical attempt at news and staying relevant...
