Two sources close to Jeb Bush, including one who has spoken to the former Florida governor within the past few hours, say he is seriously considering a run for Senate now that incumbent Republican Mel Martinez has retired.
"He is receiving a lot of encouragement from both in and out of the state," an longtime Bush adviser said tonight. "He is going to take his time and approach this very methodically." Bush will weigh, according to this adviser, how a run would impact his family, his business, and whether the Senate would be the best platform for the causes he'd advocate -- education, immigration, GOP solutions to health care and energy.
Jeb has already decided to enter the race for the U.S. Senate. That's the reason for Mel Martinez's early retirement. The Bush's made Martinez the Senator in 2004, when they prevented Katherine Harris from running. Martinez was merely a seat holder until Jeb Bush became available to run. What senator in recent memory has ever retired after their first term...and announced it two years early, to boot?
Remember this "gem" last Sunday from Jeb Bush where he advocates a "shadow government"? Can somebody please tell Jeb Bush that we only have one government at a time and we only have one president at a time. I believe what Jeb Bush is proposing is treason. It looks like the traitorous genes were passed down from Nazi sympathizer/collaborator Senator Prescott Bush through the family.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush tells Newsmax that the GOP must broaden its appeal to avoid becoming “the old white-guy party,” and recommends that Republicans create a “shadow government” to engage Democrats on important issues as the incoming Obama administration seeks to enact its agenda.
In a wide-ranging interview with Newsmax, the popular former governor and younger brother of President George W. Bush said the 2008 election was neither "transformational" nor a landslide. For example, he noted that Barack Obama's significant fundraising advantage over John McCain played a key role in Democratic success this year.
Just what we need, another Bush divorced from reality. The election of 2008 was indeed a landslide, not just at the presidential level, but in the senate and house as well. Bush needs a primer on why Obama was able to raise the record breaking funds that were attained mostly by small donors. The country was sick and tired of Jeb Bush's intellectually inept and morally bankrupt brother, and the corrupt and sycophantic ass kissing Republicans, as well. The margin of victory for President-elect Barack Obama was indeed a landslide, especially when you take into consideration the smears and fears that were spread around like manure by the republicans, in a less than veiled attempt to perpetuate their racism.
George HW Bush was a miserable failure as POTUS. George "W"orthless Bush surpassed that to become the worst POTUS of all time....and now we get to hear this genius's take on the Obama victory, which of course he has to denigrate. Jeb is just as dangerous as the other two Bush's, except that he is more coy about it.
A sampling of Jeb Bush's Florida legacy:
June 2007: Jeb hired as a "consultant" by Lehman.
July, August 2007: Lehman sold the state $842 million of mortgage- backed debt, which defaulted within four months.
