There is a special election coming up here in Indiana, in the neighboring 7th district.
The election is to fill the term of beloved Congresswoman, the Honorable Julia Carson.
The Republican running in the special election is State Representative Jon Elrod.
As a State Representative, and with the State Legislature in session, Elrod was on the floor of the Indiana State House yesterday and he was doing Congressional Campaigning.
Oh, and the Indiana Democratic Party has him on video tape doing it!
Those pesky rules. Here is the link to the story on WISH-TV’s website. This station is the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis.
From the WISH-TV online story:
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indiana Democrats caught Republican State Representative Jon Elrod on tape doing work for his congressional campaign during a meeting of the Indiana house on Tuesday.
The Democrats said Elrod's actions amount to an ethical violation. A Republican staffer who helped Elrod will be disciplined according to Minority Leader Brian Bosma. Elrod is a candidate in the March 11th special election called to replace the late Julia Carson.
Of course: Punish that staffer!!!
Andre Carson, Congresswoman Carson’s grandson, is the Democrat on the ballot to fill out his grandmother’s term, and there are several others running for the nomination in the primary. So I will include a link to the ActBlue Page that includes All of us that are running for Cngress all across Indiana.
Turning Indiana Blue and not by holding our breath!
Thanks for reading and all that you do.
